Step three / enforce it

Let the system hold the limit for you.

Licensed operators ship the controls you would otherwise have to supply with discipline. Find them once and switch them on.

Deposit

Deposit limit

Caps how much can enter the account per day, week or month. The most common and most useful control.

Loss

Loss limit

Caps net loss over a period. Tighter than a deposit limit because it counts results, not just money in.

Time

Session reminder

A periodic pop-up showing time spent. Easy to ignore once, hard to ignore repeatedly — which is the point.

Pause

Time-out

A short self-imposed suspension, usually 24 hours to several weeks. Use it early, before a break feels needed.

Stop

Self-exclusion

A longer block, often six months or more and sometimes across multiple operators. It is a tool, not a failure.

Help

Reality check & support

Most licensed sites surface activity summaries and links to independent support services. Read them.

Switch them on before you need them

Controls are easiest to set while you are calm and hardest to set during a bad run. Set a deposit limit on day one, when the amount is hypothetical and the choice is cheap.

Minimum protection. At a minimum, set a deposit limit equal to your weekly allowance and turn on session reminders. Two minutes of setup outlasts most resolutions.
Tools are not a licence. A limit makes an operator's platform safer to use, not wagering profitable. The margin and the risk are unchanged. See odds basics.
